Deep under the Caspian Sea, in a region fraught with instability and geopolitical intrigue, oil has been discovered. In order to get this oil to the West a pipeline is being built that will challenge vested economic interests and make certain people very very rich. Sir Robert King, head of King Enterprises, the company building the pipeline, is murdered in London. Since the morning of his death, Elektra, his daughter assumes control of the company. James Bond has to protect her and determine who killed her father.
